Recruitee onboards Robbert Flipsen as new COO for hyper-growth
Robbert Flipsen recently joined Recruitee in the Amsterdam HQ as Recruitee’s very first Chief Operations Officer (COO). Flipsen’s arrival pairs naturally with the notable growth that Recruitee has experienced over the past year. Recruitee recently earned its place as the 21st fastest growing SaaS company globally, marking a quick transition from startup to scaleup.

Flipsen, who most recently came from payments scaleup, Mollie, brings years of experience working in fast-paced and international environments. Most notably, Flipsen was on the ground floor of Bynder’s exponential growth from their Amsterdam-based hub, serving as their COO between 2012 and 2018.
“Joining Recruitee, for me, was a no-brainer.” Flipsen shares, “If you look at what makes a true, modern software company nowadays, Recruitee checks all the boxes. Additionally, joining a real product-driven company that’s already beloved by customers at this stage in their journey is exciting. Especially given they’re only just scratching the surface.”
“From my end- having worked in tech my entire career at companies like TomTom, Bynder, and Mollie- I feel I can help the team scale quicker and prevent the common pitfalls.”
Now that Recruitee has entered the next step of its journey, Flipsen’s experience in navigating the challenges of hyper-growth within the SaaS context is crucial. Past learnings in this space will help guide the Recruitee team into the next level of organizational success.
Prior to Flipsen’s arrival, Recruitee’s c-suite consisted of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Chief Experience Officer (CXO). The decision to add a COO to Recruitee’s leadership was strategic and necessary in order to continue to scale sustainably.
“We’re very excited to have Robbert joining our management team.” Perry Oostdam, Recruitee’s CEO said, “During his time as COO at Bynder and Head of International Business Development at Mollie, Robbert learned what it takes to grow operations internally at an extremely fast pace.”
Flipsen’s first responsibilities will be to help grow the commercial and support teams and assist in day to day operational management. Next, Flipsen will play a vital role in Recruitee’s international expansion, which includes ambitious growth targets to roll out in over ten additional countries in 2020.
A long (and exciting) road ahead
Recruitee has won its spot as a market leader in the recruitment tech scene, however, there’s a long road ahead and many plans are still in the works. Driving Recruitee’s growth further will require an experienced eye on process, planning, and expansion.
