How a tailored onboarding helped strengthen Transcom’s recruitment

Every recruitment team at some point looks to improve or rehaul their processes, but when you’re a multinational company with offices around the globe, change can seem like a long journey.

In 2018, Transcom decided to strengthen its recruitment strategies by overhauling its candidate management and adopting a more pro-active recruiting style. Helped by a tailored onboarding from Recruitee, Transcom managed to effectively streamline their hiring processes across 28 of its European offices.

As a customer service provider, Transcom has an extensive network in the Philippines, Europe, and North America. Its core business is to provide customer care, sales, back office, and credit management services through their network and remote agents. Transcom’s talent are a core element of their success.

Room for improvement

Prior to its recruitment overhaul, Transcom was looking to find a solution to help its recruiters match relevant talent to job openings easier and faster. It was also looking to improve its candidate management by moving beyond using spreadsheets to record candidate data or rely on the help of temp agencies. 

“When I joined Transcom one of my tasks was to standardize the recruitment process and have a system in place that was modern, efficient, digital, and objective.” Christa Buss, Global Head of Recruitment, shared.

“We also wanted to create a system that would allow our recruiters to spend time on the elements of the hiring process where their skills and experience were needed the most, such as sales and marketing, and less time on the administration.”

Adopting proactive recruitment strategies

Transcom started implementing changes to its recruitment by first establishing recruitment hubs in all of its offices, hiring dedicated recruiters, and implementing social media strategies to help source candidates. Their aim was to adopt a more pro-active style of recruitment.

Transcom also wanted their hiring to become more transparent (easy to track by all team members) and increase their recruitment capabilities by team size and per language.  After testing out a couple of ATS platforms, Transcom opted for Recruitee.  

“We chose Recruitee because it was user-friendly, intuitive, offered flexibility in workflows, customization options, extensive data functionality, and reporting. We also received a solution-oriented approach and communication from Recruitee,” Buss shared.  

Tailored onboarding process

Transcom’s onboarding process across 28 locations with Recruitee only took eight weeks to complete. The process was customized to meet Transcom’s needs with training and sessions around its career site integration and ensuring GDPR compliance across its European network. 

“Recruitee did many introductions, lessons, and training with us. We were at different phases of the rollout for each country, and Recruitee’s approach was very patient, and the mindset was solution-oriented.”

“Because of the tailored onboarding approach, we’ve managed to successfully streamline our hiring processes across our offices, shortening the process from both the recruiters and candidates’ perspective,” said Buss.
